Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of visitor and vehicle registrations at all times.
- Follow reasonable instructions from supervisors and ensure smooth shift handovers, documenting all entries and events in the OB Book in each shift operation.
- Verify and log the identification of all visitors, delivery personnel, and contractors in the visit registration record.
- Oversee the movement of goods leaving the hotel, ensuring a Gate Pass is obtained prior to departure.
- Conduct bag checks for staff and outside contractors at the Staff Entrance, reporting any suspicious hotel property intended to be taken away to the GEM, relevant department heads, and Security-In-Charge.
- Record the names, vehicle plate numbers, and contact details of contractors and workers for future reference as needed.
- Ensure fire exits, stairwells, corridors, and entrances are clear of obstructions, water leaks, and debris such as cigarette butts.
- Carry out patrols at designated routes and points, including but not limited to the hotel premises and perimeter, daily and during each shift.
- Ensure all public areas are kept clean, dry, and free from hazards, reporting any issues immediately.
- Monitor hotel properties for damage and graffiti, reporting any issues to management as necessary.
- During patrols and routine inspections, assess the safety of all scaffoldings, and report any loose fittings on external walls.
- Monitor the hotel premises for unauthorized individuals loitering and promptly report any irregularities or suspicious activities.
- Ensure that all doors are properly closed and locked during patrols, routine checks, and particularly at night.
- Immediately report any signs of fire, including unusual smells like burning or hazy smoke.
- Promptly report any damage, including but not limited to guest property, such as vehicles, and hotel property.
- Ensure all delivery personnel are registered and screened before entering the hotel premises.
- Verify the identification of all casual staff against the Casual system, ensuring that all necessary details are thoroughly and accurately checked.
- Monitor CCTV feeds for any irregularities and report any suspicious activities or concerns to supervisors, responding immediately as needed.
- Conduct staff locker checks in collaboration with the Human Resources Department.
- Engage in fire evacuation drills as necessary.
- Carry out inspections of fire equipment, panic alarms, lift intercoms and first aid boxes every two weeks or monthly, as required.
- Check the CCTV system to ensure that live views, recordings, and playback are functioning properly.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the fire safety system / procedures and become proficient in the proper use of fire extinguishers and hose reels.
- Oversee traffic control as needed.
- Oversee key control, ensuring that all issued keys are logged and returned on the same day.
- All team members on duty must report to the security control room for post changes before transitioning to their next duty post. They should not leave their current post without notifying and obtaining approval from the shift supervisor.
- All team members are required to follow the 24-hour shift roster as assigned by the head of the Risk and Safety department.
- Perform any other relevant projects and duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- 2 years relevant experience with 1 year experience in the hotel industry.
- Form 5 graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Holder of valid Security Personnel Permit and QAS certificate.
- Holder of valid First Aid Certificate issued by Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Association or other recognized authority.
- Able to work shift duties including overnight shift.
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as Risk and Safety Officer.
