Job Overview
With a focus on regulatory compliance requirements and specific Codes of Practice, this incumbent is responsible for the strategic planning of personal data protection and retention, as well as hygiene and environmental programs, and for identifying and managing significant industrial hygiene aspects to ensure that the Hotels’ practices, as well as the qualitative and quantitative environmental and hygiene assessments, fully comply with legal requirements and are thoroughly completed on a timely basis.
Responsibilities
1. Hygiene Management
- Conduct hygiene risk assessments and implement safe systems of work for hygiene activities.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, statutory requirements, licensing conditions, food safety regulations and relevant codes of practice.
- Monitor personal, food and environmental hygiene standards through inspections, audits and record keeping.
- Identify hygiene risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee health and hygiene practices of food handlers, including arranging medical examinations or work suspension where required.
- Develop and deliver hygiene and food safety training, ensuring employee compliance.
- Supervise hygiene staff and contractors to ensure effective performance and adherence to standards.
- Investigate and respond to food hygiene and safety complaints, enquiries and incidents.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, including the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
- Manage hygiene budgets, resources, chemicals, equipment and consumables in a cost-effective manner.
- Develop and maintain cleaning procedures, schedules, work instructions and records to support regulatory and certification requirements.
- Conduct audits and inspections, monitor corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure safe procurement, storage, handling and use of hygiene chemicals, including supplier reviews and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve non-conformities promptly.
2. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate requirements, including data privacy, PCI DSS and related policies.
- Promote a culture of compliance, privacy protection and risk management.
- Develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures, controls and risk assessment tools relating to privacy and information security.
- Oversee third-party service providers and data processors to ensure contractual, privacy and security compliance.
- Identify compliance training needs and work with Human Resources to deliver training and awareness programs.
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices, recommending and implementing necessary improvements.
3. Environmental Health, Safety & Management Systems
- Manage waste segregation, storage and disposal processes in compliance with legal, environmental and safety requirements.
- Liaise with waste management contractors and service providers to ensure compliant operations.
- Develop, implement and support environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs, policies and training.
- Provide EHS guidance and support to operational teams.
- Conduct workplace inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Maintain current and accessible Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical safety information.
- Participate in Occupational Health and Safety Committee activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Other Duties

Requirements
- Degree in industrial hygiene or related disciplines;
- 8-10 years of experience in comprehensive industrial hygiene practices within a corporate environment;
- Experience in working within a compliance/standard driven environment – ISO14001:2015 and ISO22000:2018, managing and leading an EHS and hygiene team within a hotel environment;
- Excellent proficiency in English and Chinese;
- Good knowledge of safety standards that comply with the company regulations and local ordinances;
- Preferably with food factory / central kitchen experience.
