Job Overview
The position is accountable for the proper maintenance of physical plant, engineering facilities, and the interior and exterior of the entire hotel. The position is also responsible of the daily operation of the department, scheduling subordinates in carrying out routine maintenance and overhaul of hotel facilities, mechanical plants, equipment and installations etc.
Responsibilities
- To assist the Director of Engineering to manage the department.
- To arrange daily staffing, schedule duty rosters, plan staff annual leave and statutory holidays.
- To supervise and direct subordinates to complete the assigned job tasks according to the agreed repair and maintenance program.
- To be responsible for managing installation, maintenance and repairs of the hotel equipment.
- To coordinate with contractors in carrying out routine maintenance.
- To assist in providing training for staff, evaluating their progress and performance. Periodically, and ensure that they are working in the most practical, skillful and safe manner.
- To assess safety and health risks in the work place and take necessary precautions if required.
- To review the engineering materials and parts for re-ordering level.
- To check the daily progress of repair and maintenance work orders.
- To analyze and monitor the consumption of the gas, power and water for hotel utilities and recommend measures to save energy.
- To record the Engineering Log Book daily and take the corrective action as required.
- To attend the daily Morning Briefing with Director of Engineering and follow up the instruction.
- Work in shift duty and over-time, emergency on-call if required.
- Report duty under typhoon signal hoisted and rainstorm condition or stay in hotel for standby if required.
- Any other relevant projects and duties as assigned by superior.
Responsibilities (Con't)
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in engineering field
- Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker in Grade A or Grade B is preferred.
- Or Certificate in Apprentice Training Scheme in A/C and Refrigeration field.
- Certified Worker for Temporary Suspended Working Platform (Gondola).
- Certificate of Construction Industry Safety Training.
- Certificated worker in confined space.
- Certificate in Fire Fighting course preferred.
- At least 3 years in supervisory level or above and working experience in hotel operation.
- Responsible and reliable, initiative, mature and leadership.
- Cantonese, English and Putonghua is preferred.
- Work in shift duty & over-time, emergency on-call if required.
- Report duty under typhoon signal hoisted and rainstorm condition or staying in hotel for standby if required.
