Job Overview

The position is accountable for planning, organizing and overseeing the daily operation, energy management, prepare and controlling the budget, dealing with contractors regarding quotations, contracts for repair and maintenance, renovation works, handling license application and arrangement for all M&E and building repair works and etc.

Responsibilities

  1. To be responsible for preparing budget for major overhauling and installation of machinery, repair and maintenance of physical plant; and controlling of all departmental expenses.
  2. To supervise and direct all staff in the department to carry out their tasks effectively in compliance with the hotel policies and procedures.
  3. To evaluate the effectiveness of the hotel maintenance works and make sure corrective actions are being taken, promptly wherever needed.
  4. To overlook the installation, repair and maintenance of operation equipment, such as calorifiers, chillers, pumps, ventilating systems, compressors, air-conditioners, refrigerators and other cooling or heating systems etc.
  5. To establish preventative maintenance program to assure guests and staff of a comfortable environment to stay or to work in.
  6. To analyze and monitor the consumption of the gas, power and water for hotel utilities and recommend measures to save energy.
  7. To maintain a complete file of drawings specifications and equipment manuals for all equipment contained within the hotel premises.
  8. To go through the Engineering Log Book daily and take the necessary action as required.
  9. To make recommendation to the General Manager/Hotel Manager regarding the replacement of inefficient or obsolete equipment.
  10. To attend the Morning Briefing, Department Head Meeting and Coordinate Meeting with Corporate Office, Designer, Consultant and Contractors for renovation and A&A projects in the hotel building.
  11. To work closely with executives and maintain a cordial relationship with all department heads.
  12. To coordinate with all departments to attend fire drills exercise.
  13. To provide training for subordinates to ensure all staff members are capable to perform their tasks satisfactorily.
  14. To maintain the work force of the department by interviewing and selecting prospective employees.
  15. Any other relevant projects and duties as assigned by superior.

Requirements

  1. Higher Diploma/Degree in engineering field.
  2. Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker in Grade B.
  3. Competent Person Certificate in confined space.
  4. Certificated worker in confined space.
  5. Certificate of Construction Industry Safety Training.
  6. Certificate in Fire Fighting course preferred.
  7. At least 5 years experience in hotel industry.
  8. Sound leadership and management skills.
  9. Able to work independently and meet deadline.
  10. Responsible and reliable, initiative, aggressive, mature, leadership and well interpersonal skills.
  11. Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua is preferred.
  12. To work over-time and emergency on-call if required.
  13. Report duty under typhoon signal hoisted and rainstorm condition.
  14. Staying in hotel for standby if required.
