Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of Director of Housekeeping during his absence.
  • Assist Director of Housekeeping to maintain housekeeping costs or expenses within the stipulated budget.
  • Run day-to-day operation of the whole department including guestroom, public area, uniform & linen room, Gymnasium, swimming pool and designated area.
  • Schedule and assign all personnel activities according to occupancy and functions.
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training for all housekeeping personnel to pre-set standards.
  • Monitor closely the manning of each section to maximize their productivity.
  • Patrol and inspect all public areas, F&B outlets, offices, back-of-house, toilets, guestrooms daily.
  • Check and ensure staff are working in a safe working environment.
  • Ensure that the cleanliness and orderliness of guestrooms are up to the standard set up by the Hotel.
  • Ensure that all proper cleaning, uniform handling, and linen control procedures are carried out according to policy.
  • Advise the Director of Housekeeping / Executive Housekeeper when necessary disciplinary action should be taken.
  • Supervise the general inventory taking of all housekeeping equipment, supplies and materials.
  • To co-ordinate with Engineering staff for urgent repairs.
  • Handle guests’ complaints and special requests.
  • To co-ordinate with outside contractors such as laundry company and pest control company etc.
  • Any other relevant projects and duties as assigned by superior.

Requirements

  • University or Higher Diploma in Hotel Management.
  • Minimum 8 years’ supervisory experience in hotel industry Housekeeping.
  • Strong leadership skills with effective communication with different departments.
  • Hands on experience in all areas of housekeeping operations and experience in Departmental training would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Detail-minded and possess high level of accuracy at work.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications especially Word and Excel.
