Job Overview
Report to the Financial Controller and support the Finance Department in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel property. The role is responsible for property-level accounting, month-end closing, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal control, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost control, store and receiving support, and operational finance matters to ensure accurate reporting, proper compliance and effective business support to hotel operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel property Finance Department, ensuring efficient workflow, accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures;
- Handle and supervise full set of accounts, month-end closing and timely preparation of financial schedules and analysis reports for the property;
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports, forecasts, annual budgets and variance analyses to support hotel management decision-making;
- Partner with department heads and operation teams in preparing budgets, forecasts and business analyses, and provide practical financial advice on revenue, cost control and operational performance;
- Monitor accounts receivable, credit control, accounts payable, general ledger and cash flow matters to ensure proper financial control and timely follow-up;
- Review daily accounting transactions, revenue postings, cashiering records and supporting documents to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with hotel procedures;
- Maintain and strengthen internal control procedures over cash, revenue, expenses, inventory, fixed assets, purchasing, receiving and store operations;
- Review fixed asset records, inventory movement and store and receiving processes to safeguard hotel assets and support effective cost control;
- Liaise with internal departments, Central Office Finance, auditors, banks, vendors and other external parties on accounting, audit, banking and compliance matters;
- Prepare reports and analyses for management review, including key financial issues, operating results, budget variances, cost efficiency and business performance of the hotel;
- Support the annual audit, statutory reporting, tax filing, government surveys and other compliance requirements applicable to the property;
- Supervise, coach and support Finance team members to ensure smooth daily operations, proper task allocation and timely resolution of work issues;
- Assist in establishing and implementing departmental goals, operating procedures and process improvements for the hotel Finance Department;
- Provide financial support on hotel projects, operational initiatives, cost-saving exercises and ad hoc business reviews as required by Management;
- Assume delegated responsibilities for Finance Department control functions during the absence of the Financial Controller when required;
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department, including staff coordination, leave arrangement support and follow-up on daily operational issues;
- Perform any other duties or projects as assigned by the superior(s).

Requirements
- University graduate with HKICPA or equivalent professional qualifications;
- Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably with hotel property or hospitality operations exposure;
- Broad HKFRS knowledge and financial analysis experience;
- Well versed in MS Office and relevant accounting / hotel management systems; experience in Sun Accounting System is an advantage;
- Excellent presentation and communication skills;
- High competence in written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage;
- Independent, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, analytical, detail oriented and accurate in work;
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to details;
- Ability to handle multi-tasks and respond effectively to ad-hoc requests;
- Positive and cheerful disposition, team spirit;
