Job Overview
Overall supervise the operations and overnight activities of various departments and directs all operations staff to ensure the hotel operations being smoothly run. Handles all emergency matters occurred at the Hotel and leads the overnight team to safeguard the hotel guests and assets whenever necessary. Maintains comfort, a safe and harmonious environment for all guests (room and F&B) in the hotel at all times.
Responsibilities
- To prepare for VIP, LS & Corporate guest arrivals - transportation, room inspection plus amenities set up.
- To greet & bid farewell to all VIP guests & to ensure preparations for their arrivals & departures are carried out.
- To re-code the malfunctioning keys for guest room & safe if necessary.
- In case of overbooked situation, to assist Reception for guest transfer to other hotels & to follow up payment if necessary.
- To double-lock guestrooms upon request.
- To enforce the hotel credit policy together with the Front Desk Assistant.
- To familiarize with hotel occupancy & rate codes.
- To handle guest complaints & comments in a professional manner.
- To be responsible for handling lost & found valuables & to liaise with Housekeeping department for detailed records.
- To introduce hotel facilities on rooms & F&B outlets when conducting room show to potential clients upon request.
- To pay special attention to disabled guest and make known to all concerning departments.
- To handle damage to hotel properties & compensation claimed by guest.
- To supervise the daily operations of all operational aspects.
- To report hotel incidents on the logbook for management attention & to institute appropriate action were deemed necessary.
- To attend Early Bird briefing & to follow up actions per management directives.
- To check the daily function events & to ensure the F&B venues are in good condition before & after function events.
- To assist & co-ordinate with hotel departments when necessary.
- To patrol hotel premises & to ensure health & safety practices are adhered to by hotel departments.
- To conduct inspections in both front & back areas for cleanliness and orderliness.
- To handle emergency cases under typhoon/ fire/ blackout/ bomb threat/ red & black rain/ flooding/ medical treatment/ hospitalisation/ death.
- To offer assistance to government officials, it is important to be available at the designated location and time during inspections of licenses, hygiene and sanitation, and fire services. This includes cooperating with government officials, providing necessary documentation, and facilitating their inspection process.
- To be in-charge of for emergency situation in the absence of MOD or Senior Management.
- To perform any assignment, special projects & other duties as assigned by GM, EAM & DOFO.
- To take over duties from PM shift GEM, HSKP, FO & Concierge and follow up on all outstanding issues.
- To advise GM, EAM Corporate Communication Director via PABX in advance of government bodies had to be called for emergency assistance. E.g. Police, Fire Brigade etc.
- To advise Director of Engineering Division a.s.a.p. whenever there are technical/structural concerns and / or concerns about hotel tenants’ when dealing with emergency.
- To ensure and monitor the attendance, discipline, work performance of the overnight hotel staff and outside contract cleaner and to hands over to their department heads respectively for follow up.
- To check email message at Front Desk in overnight and passes to concerned departments.
- Gather logbooks from all rooms operating sections to DOFO/EAM on all weekday mornings.
- Promote hotel facilities and cross sells corporate account to guests (both walk-in and IT).
- Any other duties or projects as assigned by the superior(s).
Requirements
- Higher Diploma or Degree holder of Hotel Management or related disciplines.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Minimum five years Front Office experience.
- Preferably with two to three years managerial experience at Front Office in similar deluxe hotel.
- Excellent trouble shootings, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical, observation and multi-tasking skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skill.
