Job Overview

To lead end-to-end coordination of complex hotel events by preparing documentation, partnering with internal departments and customers, and ensuring compliance with brand and operating standards. To drive revenue growth through post-contract upselling, menu/package development, and sales coaching. To achieve individual sales goals and departmental KPIs while delivering exceptional guest hospitality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, hotel departments, and customer to ensure successful delivery of complex hotel events.
  • Ensures compliance with Hotel’s Operating Standards to maintain brand integrity.
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality and ensures consistent, high-level service throughout all phases of events.  
  • Ensures Catering Sales associate(s) strive(s) to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensures products and services sold to the Event Planners meet or exceed their expectations, create loyalty and leads to increased market share.
  • Build the unit’s top line revenue by focusing on the post-contractual sale of products and services.  
  • Maximizes revenue by up selling contracted products to event planners and services.  
  • Identifies revenue opportunities for the hotel based on the event profile.
  • Develops packages and menus which drive sales.
  • Achieve individual sales goals as agreed with the Director of Catering and Events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Participate in departmental action plans and overall strategy planning.
  • Any other relevant projects and duties as assigned by superior.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years catering sales experience in the hospitality industry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Degree in hospitality management or related disciplines.
  • Ambitious, with strong drive to achieve targets, revenue, and profits.
  • Able to work under pressure, extend flexibility and meeting tight deadline.
  • Effective sales skills to up-sell products and services.
  • Knowledgeable in menu planning, food presentation, and banquet and event service operations.
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • Strong presentation and organization skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to use standard software application and MS Office; Knowledge of event booking systems (KEH) and floor plan diagram is an advantage.
  • Effective decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
