Job Overview

Assist with month-end closing and to manage finance matter of the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily reconciliation of receiving reports and food & beverage (F&B) purchase invoices.
  • Lead and enforce cost control initiatives within the operations.
  • Participate in F&B stocktakes, cost reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Assist in preparing recipe costs for menu items and proforma P&L for events.
  • Oversee storage management and receiving functions.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team and support enhancements to the CheckSCM system.
  • Supervise the Accounts Assistant in reporting insurance claims for the hotel.
  • With the Accounts Assistant, coordinate with all concerned departments regarding insurance claims.
  • Follow up on outstanding insurance claims for staff injuries in collaboration with the Human Resources Department.
  • Conduct continuous audits of all accounts, records, and transactions of the hotel.
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of monthly closing journal entries, balance sheets, profit and loss schedules, fixed assets register and cash flow statements.
  • Verify that monthly inventory computations correspond with the General Ledger.
  • Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and that reconciliation schedules are on file.
  • Prepare and scrutinize monthly financial reports, investigating unusual variations and adding comments as necessary.
  • With the Accounts Assistant, in charge of the preparation of forecasts and budgeting process, as well as other requested analytic reports and feasibility studies.
  • Implement local practices to ensure compliance with regulations issued by local government agencies, after approval by Hotel Management.
  • Ensure that all contributions and license fees are paid on time.
  • Assist and support in staff planning within the Finance department.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management, in accordance with company policy and/or direct supervisor's instructions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance and/or Accounting or its equivalent, preferably a Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant local statutory requirements.
  • Familiar with Hong Kong accounting standard and USALI hotel industry practices.
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in the hotel industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office application, SUN accounting system and hotel procurement system will be an advantage.
