Job Overview

Assists Accountant to perform general accounting functions on expenditure allotments, processing of payment, budgetary control and analysis. General store and operating equipment stocktaking and implement fixed asset control procedures to ensure the accounting records to show true and fair view.

Responsibilities

  1. Assists Accountant to maintain proper books and records, and prepare financial statements.
  2. Ensures month end closing and all other required management reports and provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the hotel.
  3. Prepares balance sheet items breakdown, contract summary, capital expenditure and planned maintenance breakdown.
  4. Assists in preparing budgets, forecasts and business planning, including projected revenue of the operations.
  5. Reconciles inter-company balance within the group.
  6. Chases late payments, reporting bad debts and monitoring cash flow.
  7. Assists in preparing capital reviews as required by Financial Controller.
  8. Assists in developing the best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximize impact and efficiency.
  9. Ensures the balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the operations.
  10.  Assigns account codes and check supporting for petty cash reimbursement.
  11. Attends monthly finance meetings in the absence of Accountant.
  12. Complies with the group policies and procedures and maximize performance.
  13. Supervises the preparation of monthly operating statements and year-end statutory accounts.
  14. Assists in preparing tax computation and completes statistical questionnaire from Government or other authorized bodies.
  15. Supervises the daily fund transfer.
  16. Maintains fixed asset register and carry out periodic physical check.
  17. Assists in financial analysis/evaluation.
  18. Assists other department heads in improving his/her financial awareness and provide with relevant financial information for the operations.
  19. Any other relevant projects and duties as assigned by superior.

Requirements

  1. Preferably finalist of recognised accounting association or university graduate majoring in accounting.
  2. Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office and A/P application.
  3. Minimum 3 years of experience.
  4. Experience with the hospitality uniform system of accounts preferable.
  5. Basic knowledge of double entry bookkeeping system.
  6. Working knowledge of written and spoken English.
  7. Mature, independent, proactive, service-oriented and attentive to detail.
  8. Outspoken and outgoing personality with a passion for service excellence.
  9. A team player who can work with various departments at different levels.
  10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skill.
