Job Overview
As a member in the Group Insurance team, the Senior Officer – Insurance (SOI) is responsible for handling insurance programs renewals and administrative and all-round insurance related duties in respect of the Group’s insurance programs and policies including Property All Risks, Employees’ Compensation, Commercial Liability, Motors, Construction, Employees’ Benefit Schemes, and other Group-Controlled Insurance Schemes for tenants and business partners etc.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the strategy, placement and execution of the Group’s insurance programs, including assistance in establishment and implementation of new programs when required, underwriting data collection, pricing & terms, integration of new properties and operations.
- Assist in the collection of data, preparation of premium allocation, and compile any insurance reports and portfolio analytics as and when required.
- Assist in the design and set up of the internal Insurance Automation System.
- Look after the insurance administration functions including policy documents, endorsements, invoices and relevant information and records.
- Review and negotiate contractual insurance and indemnity provisions for Group’s managed contracts/agreements and any insurance documents to ensure the internal processes are strictly followed by user departments.
- Take proactive approach in the liaison with insurance consultancy firms, insurers and any other business partners for maintaining the effectiveness and efficiency of operations of the insurance programs.
- Organize and develop insurance presentation and/or summaries for internal users
- Attend inquiries and provide advice on insurance related matters to business units and departments of the Group.
- Assist in the daily operations and administrative, including maintenance of the Document Management System, and any assigned ad-hoc projects and supporting duties.
Requirements
- University graduate with degree ideally in Insurance, Accounting or Financial, or related disciplines
- Associate membership in CII or ANZII will be an advantage
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the non-life insurance industry, preferably in an in-house insurance team of corporate or a sizeable insurance broker firm
- Familiar with insurance policy coverages, conditions, exclusions, and insurance placement tendering processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Active and responsible attitude, willing to learn, and self-motivated commit to assigned tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint
- Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Candidate with less relevant experience will be considered as Officer role
