Job Overview
As a member of the Group's Insurance Department, the incumbent will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify key risk areas and serve as the primary contact for the Group's Risk and Insurance Consultants, Insurers, and other external experts to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of claims management.
You will support the Department Head in managing the Group's claim portfolios and systems, handle complex claims, and conduct comprehensive claims and risk analysis related to the Group's insurance programs and policies, mainly the Property All Risks, Employees’ Compensation, Commercial Liability, Motor Vehicles, Construction, and Employees’ Benefit Schemes.
Responsibilities
- Undertake claims management functions promptly and independently includes reviewing claim submissions, negotiating with insurers, loss adjusters, and other claim experts to ensure timely claim settlements
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and subsidiary companies to ensure seamless claims handling
- Coordinate with external claim experts, lawyers and stakeholders in handling complex or sensitive claims, including settlement negotiations, litigation management, and claims dispute resolution
- Manage and review the performance of insurance brokers, insurers, and other external experts to ensure required standards are met
- Assist in implementing initiatives to improve claims management processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Lead investigations in complex or high-value claim cases, work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for decisions making
- Prepare and present regular claims-related reports such as claim trends, risks analysis, reserving analysis and loss ratios review to the Department Head and other relevant stakeholders
- Assist the Department Head to develop and implement claims-related policies, procedures and guidelines
- Conduct regular risk inspections to identify potentially risky areas for continuous improvement and risk management
- Provide support to drive the implementation of an in-house online Insurance Management System for operational efficiency of the Group
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, management, or any related disciplines
- Associate membership in CII or ANZII will be an advantage
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the commercial (non-life) insurance industry, preferably in an in-house corporate insurance team, insurance broker firm, or insurance company
- Familiar with insurance policy coverages, conditions, exclusions, and claim procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive and responsible attitude, willing to learn, self-motivated, committed to assigned tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
- Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese
