Senior Legal Counsel

Job Overview

A well-established Hong Kong real estate developer is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel / Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team. The role covers a wide spectrum of commercial, real estate, and financing matters, providing exposure to the Group’s strategic growth and business initiatives. Candidates with litigation experience will have an advantage.  

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, financing, and real estate matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and legal documents.
• Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic, business-aligned solutions.
• Support the Group’s growth and development, including new business initiatives and joint ventures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and report to the Head of Legal and relevant business units.
• Liaise with external counsel, oversee legal budgets and expenditures, and contribute to departmental projects.

Requirements

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer
• Minimum 8–10 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), preferably gained in-house or at a reputable law firm. Candidates with less PQE may be considered for the Legal Counsel position.
• Solid experience in commercial and real estate-related work; exposure to financing and litigation is preferred.
• Strong communication and legal drafting skills in both English and Chinese; Mandarin proficiency will be an advantage.
• Commercially minded, well-organized, and able to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Mature, responsible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
